Protection | HENRIQUE OLIVEIRA

P•rotection: the act of protecting or the state of being protected.

The Brasilian artist Henrique Oliveira [ São Paulo, 1973 ] uses recycled materials, like different kinds of cheap wood or mud, to configure these massive installations in which he returns these materials into its original organic shape, where they used to belong.

Painting is transformed into a three-dimensional language as his works travel between sculpture and architecture. He invites visitors to experience the space from the inside, to think about it, to admire the poetics of the broken pieces of plain wood found in the street as well as the colour which he has used diluted on the material surface, to keep its texture.
