Paranormal | MOONASSI

P•aranormal: of or pertaining to the claimed ocurrance of an event or perception without scientific explanation, as psychokinesis, extrasensory perception, or others purportedly supernatural phenomena.

A million possibilities of daily life thoughts have been created by this South Korean artist [Seoul, 1980] without using a single world. “Simple, strong, beautiful and enough” is how he defines the use of black ink as his only working tool.

The only pattern he appeals is that face with no expression (used in old Buddhist painting) which releases the viewer from any previous judgement about the true nature of the characters. Gender, place and time do not seem to be important anymore.

Moonassi is obviously an artistic name. “Moonaa” can be roughly translated as “there is no such thing as me”, or “emptiness / void in me”.
