As an Architect I pay attention to details; materials possibilities are part of my daily work, as they are for the talented sculpture John Bisbee [ EEUU, 1965 ] who has been working with nails for nearly three decades.
The artist himself says “What can’t you draw with a line? The nail is just my line.” I find this statement really accurate, because in Bisnee’s multiple exhibitions you can appreciate all kind of patterns, objects and installations made exclusively out of nails, which have the same expressivity as a freehand drawing.
Por deformación profesional, presto gran atención a los detalles; las distintas posibilidades de los materiales son parte de mi trabajo diario, como lo son también del talentoso escultor John Bisbee [ EEUU, 1965 ] quién lleva trabajando con clavos casi tres décadas.
El propio artista lo dice “¿Qué no puedes dibujar con una línea ? El clavo es mi línea.”. Encuentro esta afirmación particularmente acertada, ya que en cualquiera de las numerosas exposiciones de Bisnee podemos apreciar todo tipo de patrones, objetos e instalaciones hechas exclusivamente de clavos; y todo esto con la misma expresividad de un dibujo a mano alzada.
